Minor Spoilers....Well I read all three books. The first (Gabe and Mia's book) disturbed me a lot in some scenes. The second (Jace and Bethany's book) was pretty good but it wasn't too original and the plot was easy to guess. This book, the third in the series just ticked me off. I skim read at least 70% of it and even glossed over the sex scenes. Sure some of the sex scenes were hot and if you are after a book just for that then this book (and the series in general) is fine.But the plot wasn't great in this last book either, it was very easy to predict what would happen. And the three men from the series are all basically carbon copies of each other. They talk the same, they have sex the same, they have the same kinks, they treat women the same. The same sex scenes occur in all three books - there is the one with the woman on her knees giving a blow job as soon as the man gets home from work, there is the one were the woman is on her knees in the bed (or living room) with her hands tied behind her back. There is the third time anal sex scene where the men say the same endearments to the woman. And of course there is the "girls night out sex" scene that happens in all three books. The repetition drove me insane. And each book, but especially the last, went on and on about girls night and how great the men find it and blah blah blah. Ok we get it! They love drunk women in sexy shoes, let's move onto to something else!There is also the constant chats between the men that happen multiple times in every book about how they are family and always have each other's backs and we love you etc etc etc. that's fine to hear once but multiple times in each book? And the first two books make this massive deal about Ash's family being horrible. But in this last book, apart from the two scenes with his family, Ash's family is hardly even mentioned. Why make a big song and dance about them only to significantly cut them out of the last book?And the final thing that drove me nuts was the way that the men spoke - they seemed incapable of starting a sentence with "I" "I've" or I'm". It is always "Don't want you to think that" "Never do anything to hurt you" "Always be there for you" "Not going to happen" "Want you to...". Is it so hard to speak properly?So all that being said - if you have no interest in reading a book with a well thought out plot and different characters with different personalities and just want some steamy sex scenes then this series is for you. If you expect a little more when reading a book then this series will just annoy you, much like it did me. I've read a lot of Maya banks books which I've really enjoyed. This book felt like something was bothering the author, in that It's very hard to believe high powered, successful executives speak such a low level of English with such amazingly poor grammar. The characters sound like they're not at all educated and this throws the portrayal of the characters off. I can completely imagine high level executives having somewhat low level emotional responses like anybody, but their poor grammar and continuously incomplete sentences made the characters sound like idiots and made them unbelievable. This language issue certainly this has never happened in previous books, I've read. I couldn't finish the book because this was so weird, unbelievable and uncharacteristic for Maya.
